THE THRILL OF RACING
Like no other, racing provides a unique and exhilarating opportunity to be actively involved in the sport – owning your very own pure thoroughbred racing machine allows you to be part of the journey of a potential historical racehorse.
Recent greats such as Sea The Stars, Frankel and Camelot have exhibited the voyage a racehorse can take connections on, particularly during a thoroughbreds pinnacle three-year-old career. Imagine lining up your thoroughbred in the world’s most significant races, such as Royal Ascot's prestigious 2-year-old races before following on to races such as; The 2,000 Guineas; The Epsom Derby and The Prix Arc De Triomphe in Paris, places where dreams can become reality.
Dragon Racing is offering a compelling and unique venture enabling its shareholders to become emersed in the legendary culture and history of British and European racing. You will rub shoulders with the sports icons on the biggest stages of them all during the European flat season, but most importantly, you will be submerged in an environment that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.

THE CONCEPT
Dragon Racing is a management company which has formed to act on behalf of a racing club to buy yearlings to race as two-year-olds in the year 2015, continuing on as three-year-olds in 2016. The purchasing has already commenced privately (see YEARLINGS) and will continue at the various upcoming yearling sale such as at the Deauville, France, Yearling Sale in mid-August 2014 and conclude at the Tattersalls, Newmarket, England, October Sale. The Dragon Racing buying team is headed by Andy Smith, a London based bloodstock agent with some thirty five years of international experience and success. All horses will be sold by December 2016, the syndicates dissolved and funds redistributed amongst its shareholders.
For the 2015 season Dragon Racing Club anticipate having up to 20 two-year-olds in training, divided into four syndictes of 5 horses. These will largely be based in the United Kingdom, although Dragon Racing Club expects to be represented in France. Top trainers will be selected by our management team, aimed at delivering as much success and enjoyment to the partnership as possible. Dragon Racing Management appreciate this is a large investment and no corners will be cut to ensure a smooth passage, with optimum effort and skill, directed at achieving a profitable and enjoyable future. We anticipate being able to repeat the buying process in 2015, forming new syndicates, and years thereafter.
In this way every shareholder can enjoy the thrills and successes of each horse. Butch Beaton-Brown will liaise between the selected trainers and members of the club by: e-mail; video-link; and/or Skype, to keep the individual partnerships fully informed of the stable progress.
Weatherbys Bank, who act as secretaries to the Jockey Club, will handle all of Dragon racing’s finances in collecting prize monies, paying jockey fees, settling training accounts and acting as accountants and advisors in the reimbursement of Value Added Tax (VAT) and general bookkeeping. At the closing of the partnership the balance will be divided equally between its shareholders. Whilst every intention is to purchase the best horses available, with two-year-olds becoming three-year-olds in the year 2016, there will be a culling process to lower numbers in the second year. These horses will be sold privately or by public auction. However, shareholders will have first refusal to buy any partnership horse in its entirety should they wish.
